Project Description

The Port of Los Angeles’ Badger Avenue Bridge is a Railroad Bridge carries the Pacific Harbor Line railroad across the Cerritos Channel to Terminal Island from San Pedro, to serve the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach. The bridge encompasses a Lift System to lift the bridge above Cerritos Channel for vessels to travel underneath.

Our Role

The Badger Bridge Rehabilitation Project consists of work on the bridge lift system – remove and dispose of 2-existing Direct Current (DC) Variable Speed Drives, and 2-DC Drive Motors and their Programmable Logic Control (PLC) System; furnish, install, test, commission and certify 2-new Alternating Current (AC) Flux Vector Drives and Controllers; furnish, install, test, commission and certify 2 new AC Motors, and new PLC Control System including the interfacing of the sensors and controls for interlocking and signaling with the railroad authority; ensure total compatibility of all equipment and devices; provide spare parts and provide training.
